📽NY Theatrical Premiere📽
🎞Rolling! Join us for a night of film as we launch The Philadelphia 11 in NYC! Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 21, 7pm at DCTV Firehouse Cinema (87 Lafayette Street, New York, NY 10013)

🎥Q&A with director Margo Guernsey, Rev. Margaret Rose, and Seminarian Destinee Bates

🎥In an act of civil disobedience, a group of women and their supporters organize their ordination to become Episcopal priests in 1974. The Church of the Advocate in Philadelphia welcomes them, but change is no small task. The women are harassed, threatened and banned from stepping on church property.

🎥In this feature-length documentary film, we meet the women who succeed in building a movement that transforms an age-old institution, and challenges the very essence of patriarchy within Christendom.

So glad for The Episcopal Diocese of New York to offer a space of refuge, welcome, and love, continuing a commitment to students and young people going back to the 1968 Columbia commencement (that one was an official event): exhibitions.library.columbia.edu/exhibits/show/1968/commencement/commencement1 Grateful to the organizers and supporters for their leadership and mentorship! Proud to be part of The Episcopal Church today.

Great for the Catedral to welcome students and their families for such an important occasion! Blessings to all!🙏🏽

That's how we Episcopalians do it, we are a welcoming community.
